Scuba Diving
Scuba dive amongst the immaculate waters of Hawaii's only barrier reef, located along the entire south side of the island. Whale Watching
Whale watching is easily enjoyed in Moloka'i from the many beaches, or during a boat tour in Kaunakakai Harbor. The season for this popular Hawaiian activity is December through April. Located within the National Humpback Whale Sanctuary, the waters off Moloka'i have the most dense population of whales in the Hawaiian Islands during the winter months. Be sure to keep alert for dolphins and sea turtles too!

Halawa Valley
Halawa Valley (28 miles away) was once the most populated area of Moloka'i. Here, you will find Moaula Falls and Hipuapua Falls, two of the island's smaller waterfalls, and the ancient heiau (sacrificial temple). According to the legend, a fierce lizard lives under the pool at Moaula Falls. Before you take a dip, be sure to test the lizard's mood by throwing a ti leaf in the water. If the leaf sinks, the lizard is testy, so you may want to stay on dry land!
Kalaupapa National Historic Park
Nearby are the world's highest sea cliffs, which extend more than 3,000 feet! You may also see nearby Papalaua Falls and Hawaii's tallest waterfall, Kahiwa Falls, measuring 1,750 feet from top to bottom. For more information about Hawaii's waterfalls, click here!
Moloka'i Mule Ride (Kalaupapa)
If you're willing to conquer your fear of heights, this is a must do once in a lifetime oppurtunity! Take a scenic two hour mule ride down an 1,800 foot cliff to the beautiful Kalaupapa Peninsula. This isn't like anything you've seen before. These mules take you up and down some of the steepest cliffs in the world. You can even hike this trail if you prefer. For more information, click here.
